Details on the all-new PlayStation 5

Four years into the development of the next-gen PlayStation, lead system architect Mark Cerny gave American teach magazine Wired a peek behind the curtain on what to expect for PS5:

  1. Backwards compatible with PS4 games
  2. Supports up to 8K resolution
  3. 8 core AMD Zen 2
  4. Ray-tracing support with GPU
  5. Extremely fast high-end SSD storage
  6. Will still have a disc drive

Sadly we’ll have to wait a little longer as PS5 will not be released this year but you know what they say, good things come to those who wait 😉

Capcom’s new challenger is…

Capcom Home Arcade. Image from Capcom Home Arcade microsite.

The teaser we discussed yesterday was finally revealed…and we guessed it – a plug-and-play mini-arcade!

Running on a basic set-up of HDMI output and USB power source, it also is Wi-Fi enabled for global online leaderboards. If the unique dual control setup doesn’t help you re-live that arcade, side-by-side experience, maybe the 16 pre-loaded games in the Capcom Home Arcade will:

  • 1944: The Loop Master
  • Alien vs. Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots
  • Darkstalkers
  • Eco Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
  • Gigawing
  • Mega Man: The Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

You can pre-order the Capcom Home Arcade now (estimated 25 October release in the UK), but it’ll set you back a cool €229.99 (US$259.91). No details yet on pricing and release for US or Asia markets.
